1. System Requirements

This scanner requires a Windows PC to run the Toyota Techstream software. Recommended system specs:

  • RAM: 2GB or more
  • USB Port: Required for connection

2. Installing the Software

Step 1: Install Techstream Software

  1. Insert the CD/DVD (if provided) or download Techstream from a trusted source.

  3. Run Techstream setup.exe and follow the on-screen instructions.
  4. Choose English or preferred language during installation.

Step 2: Install MINI VCI J2534 Driver

  3. Open the driver folder from the CD/downloaded files.

3. Using the Scanner for Diagnostics

Step 1: Connect to Vehicle

  1. Plug the OBD2 connector of the MINI VCI into the vehicle’s OBD2 port (usually under the dashboard).
  2. Turn the vehicle ignition to ON (but do not start the engine).
  3. Connect the USB cable to your PC.

Step 2: Run Diagnostics

  1. Launch Techstream software on your PC.
  2. Click on Connect to Vehicle.

    • Restarting Techstream and re-plugging the USB.

  • If using Windows 10/11, you may need to install Windows XP/7 Compatibility Mode or run as Administrator.
